Car Festival Of Jeypore 2012.

Car Festival (Rath Yatra) is an important festival of Jeypore.Rath yatra is celebrated on  21 june allover the state but in Jeypore this festival is celebrated one day late as per the tradition. More than 50 thousand people from different places gathered here to enjoy this Rath Yatra.In Jeypore, Rath Yatra is started on 21.6.2012(Thursday). Lord Jagannath, Balbhadra, sister Subhadra brought from temple to Rath podia and place them on car.On 22.6.2012(Friday) thousands of people  & devotees pulled the Rath to Mausi maa temple(Banko Motho).Three goddess stayed there nine days and return to  Gundicha Mandir on 29.6.2012(Friday).It is popularly known as Bahuda Yatra.During this nine days lots of devotee visited the Mausi Maa temple and various cultural programs are organized near that temple.

• Maharajah Sri Vikramadeo Bahadur was burn on  4-12-1874.
• Installed on 27-11-1895.
• Died on 8-1-1920 at Allahabad.

The statue had established by his beloved son Maharajah Sri Sri Sri RAMACHANDRADEO,Jhadkhand Badhusha,Maharajah of Jeypore samasthanam.

Unveiled by his excellency the right honourable Viscount Goschen  of Hawkhurst,G.C.I.E.,C.B.E.,Governor of Madras on the 15th december 1927.

2012.March 4 : Fire at Kalinga Bajaj Showroom in Jeypore

Fire broke out at the Kalinga Bajaj Showroom

A major fire broke out at the Kalinga Bajaj showroom here on Sunday, destroying goods worth over lakhs of rupees.

According to the sources the fire was noticed at about 11 am. Three fire tenders were rushed to the spot. It took two and half hours to put off the fire. The cause of fire was suspected to have been triggered by a short circuit.

Fortunately there has been no causalities or injuries in the fire accident because of the showroom remain closed on Sunday. The fire brigade staff along with the police and local people controlled the fire and saved many goods from burning. The loss of total damage has not yet been estimated.
